Amid the howling winds and snowstorms of Whiteridge lie many untold stories. Among them, the name Radinov stands as a symbol of loyalty and guardianship. In this Journey Unfolds, we will revisit the family's past and explore the legends they've forged in the heart of the blizzards.

Family History

The Radinov family is one of the oldest in Whiteridge, known for their loyalty, faith, and self-sacrifice. The first family head, Valram, made a vow during a fierce snowstorm when he was granted the title of Earl: "With the name Radinov, I swear to protect Whiteridge." From that moment on, the family took on the sacred responsibility of defending the land, becoming some of the most devoted followers of the Divine Light.

During the first Divine War, the then family head, Viktor, joined forces with the Valesa family to fend off the Hypofiend invasion. The Radinov family's knightly army played a critical role in that battle, slowing the advance of the Hypofiends and inspiring the people of Whiteridge to join the fight. However, their bravery came at a cost: the Hypofiends exacted a brutal revenge, nearly wiping out the family. Yet, the Radinovs never wavered from their vow to protect Whiteridge, standing strong against the forces of Hypofiends.

Carolina Radinov

Carolina was a noblewoman of the Radinov family, admired for her grace and impeccable manners. From a young age, she was seen as the ideal noble daughter, praised for both her beauty and refined upbringing. As a devout follower of the Divine Light, she made a drastic decision to leave behind her wealth and status she was born into and journey to the Whiteridge Temple to serve Dura and pursue her faith.

When disaster struck and the family was nearly destroyed, Carolina and her brother Callan managed to escape through a secret passage. To protect his sister, Callan stayed behind to fight off their pursuers, giving Carolina time to hide deep in the passage and wait for their family to return. But as time passed, she succumbed to her injuries and collapsed. When she woke, she realized that she had become an undead.

Callan Radinov

Callan, Carolina's older brother, was a mage who specialized in soul research and had worked with dwarves to develop mechanical constructs. He shared a deep bond with his sister.

Long ago, during the war against the Hypofiends, Callan was deemed unfit for the front lines and was instead left behind to defend the family estate. Using his skill with machines, he controlled mechanical constructs to guard their home. But in the end, steel and gears could not hold back the Hypofiend tide. The estate fell. Callan and Carolina escaped through the secret passage, but to protect his sister, Callan bound his soul to one of the machines and gave it a command: "Protect my sister, and don't let anyone into the passage."

From that moment on, Callan became a soul-driven mechanical guardian, carrying out his final command without question. He struck down anyone who set foot in the passage, whether they were Hypofiends or trespassers. Even after Carolina became undead, Callan's mission never changed—he continued to guard the entrance and prevent anyone from getting near the place where his sister lay.

Ending Remarks

In the upcoming Clan Reputation quest, Magister Merlin and Carolina will join forces to challenge the Whiteridge people's prejudice against the undead. More importantly, they hope to prove that the Radinov family's legacy—loyalty, guardianship, and self-sacrifice—transcends both time and death.
